Inspired by traditional Ming chairs, Hans Wegner designed his Wishbone Chair or Y Chair in 1950 and is a classic piece of Danish mid-century furniture design. Through traditional manufacturing methods, the steam bent back and arm rail achieves the profile of poultry wishbones, whilst the tapered legs and natural paper cord are additional features on the Wishbone chair. The backrest is made from one solid piece of wood and is steam molded to create trademark curve.
